'Kierfecht' is Luxembourgish for cemetery: here, the Cimetière de Hollerich.
The cemetery was laid out in 1879 to replace Hollerich's old cemetery, which closed in 1904. Until the merger of communes in 1920 it belonged to the commune of Hollerich. At almost 5.5 hectares it is the third-largest cemetery in the city, and nine British soldiers lie in its Commonwealth war graves.
