'Kalchesbruck' (Kalchesbréck) ends in 'Bréck', Luxembourgish for bridge.
Kalchesbréck is a lieu-dit about 340 m up, on the city's border with Sandweiler. It belonged to the commune of Sandweiler until a law of 5 July 1939 moved it, together with Steppchen, into Luxembourg City. The old local road from Eich to Kalchesbréck was partly used for today's N1 and N1A.
