'Roudebierg' means red hill.
It is the north-western end of Limpertsberg, home to the Lycée technique Michel-Lucius, the Lycée technique du Centre and part of the University of Luxembourg, the former Centre universitaire. In everyday speech the name often means the lower part of the avenue de la Faïencerie. From here the road runs downhill to Siwebueren. We have not yet found out why the hill is called red.
