The name recalls the Villeroy & Boch faience works.
On 1 April 1767 the brothers Jean-François, Dominique and Pierre-Joseph Boch bought land at Siwebueren from the city to build their factory; locals kept the right to wash at its springs. Rollingergrund grew up around the works. In 1836 Boch merged with Nicolas Villeroy's firm, forming Villeroy & Boch. The factory still employed 521 people in 2004; production in Luxembourg ended in 2010.
