18th Avenue is also known as Cristoforo Colombo Boulevard.
The second name covers the stretch between roughly 60th Street and Shore Parkway, where 18th Avenue is the main thoroughfare of Bensonhurst. It is lined mainly with small Italian family-owned businesses, many of which have stayed in the same family for several generations.
