Named after the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, beside West 110th Street.
From Central Park West to Riverside Drive, 110th Street is also called Cathedral Parkway, after the cathedral of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, begun in 1892. According to Forgotten New York, the street west of the park became much wider and gained its second name because of the cathedral. Along the park itself, 110th Street is Central Park North.
