Leads to Fort Hamilton, the army base named after Alexander Hamilton.
Originally Fort Hamilton Avenue, the road was renamed a parkway by the state legislature in 1892, approved by the governor on 17 May, to make land along it more desirable. It ends at the entrance to Fort Hamilton, whose cornerstone was laid in 1825. The fort was called Fort Hamilton as early as 1826, but it was not officially named for Alexander Hamilton until the 20th century.
