Barbara

Montrouge, Bagneux

Named after the singer-songwriter Barbara (1930–1997).

Born Monique Serf, Barbara wrote and sang classics of French chanson such as Nantes, Göttingen and L'Aigle noir. Planned as Verdun-Sud, the station was named in a public vote from 17 May to 17 June 2018; the other choices were Fort de Montrouge and the comedian Coluche. Barbara is buried in the Bagneux cemetery, reached by the station's south exit.
