Bérault

Saint-Mandé, Vincennes

Named after the place Bérault in Vincennes.

Michel Bérault (1796–1871), a winegrower from a very old Vincennes family, was deputy mayor from 1850 to 1870. By a council decision of 23 November 1861, Vincennes named the old chemin du ru de Montreuil the rue Bérault – today's avenue de la République – and the newly laid-out square where it meets the avenue de Paris took the same name.
