Colonel Fabien

Paris 10e, 19e

Named after the place du Colonel-Fabien, which honours Pierre Georges, known as Colonel Fabien (1919–1944).

He was a Communist Resistance fighter. The station opened in 1903 as Combat, after the square where an establishment staged animal fights from 1778 to 1850. Square and station were renamed on 19 August 1945.
