Front Populaire

Aubervilliers, Saint-Denis

Named after the place du Front-Populaire, which recalls the left-wing government of 1936–1938.

During planning the station was called Proudhon – Gardinoux, after the crossroads. The name Front Populaire was proposed in 2006 by a deputy mayor of Aubervilliers and adopted in 2011. The station opened in 2012 on the border of Saint-Denis and Aubervilliers.
