Named after the town of Maisons-Alfort and the old stade de la Suze, a stadium that stood next to it.
The stadium opened in 1935 and still existed when the station was built in 1969, but it was replaced by housing a year later. The stairs planned to lead to it now end in a blank wall. The station opened in 1970.
