Sèvres – Babylone

Paris 6e, 7e

Named after the rue de Sèvres and the rue de Babylone.

The rue de Sèvres was the old road from Paris to Sèvres. The rue de Babylone has been named since 1673 after Bernard de Sainte-Thérèse, a French bishop with the title 'bishop of Babylon'. Two rival companies had to share the station: on the old tiles, each line printed its own half of the name larger. It opened in 1910.
