Hütteldorf

Penzing

Named after Hütteldorf, a former village once called ‘Utendorf’.

Hütteldorf was first recorded in 1156/1171 as ‘Utendorf’. The name is thought to come from a man called Outo, perhaps also Ute; the ‘H’ at the front only grew onto it in the 16th century (1548, and ‘Hieteldorf’ in 1642). The village joined Vienna in 1890/1892.
