Adlershof

Named after Adlershof, which grew out of an 18th-century estate of that name.

‘Adlershof’ literally means ‘eagle’s court’. A lease signed on 14 April 1754 for the Adlershof estate is regarded as the founding date of the place; in 1756 it was written ‘Adlershoff im süßen Grunde bey Köpenick’. From 1901 the station was called Adlershof-Altglienicke; it has been plain Berlin-Adlershof since January 1935.
