Named after Brückenstraße (‘Bridge Street’), which leads to the Treskowbrücke over the Spree.
The street, named in 1904, runs from the Treskowbrücke to Schnellerstraße. The bridge links Niederschöneweide with Oberschöneweide and honours Sigismund von Treskow (1864–1945), district administrator of Niederbarnim, who pushed for it. The first bridge stood from 1904 to 1934; a wider replacement was finished in 1935.
