Named after Pichelsberg, a hilly area above the Havel.
Pichelsberg is part of Westend, in a hilly landscape shaped by the Ice Age on the western edge of the Teltow plateau. Like Pichelsdorf and Pichelswerder on the Spandau side, the name probably comes from the extraction of pitch (‘Pech’) in what was once a remote forest. The station opened in 1911; for the 1936 Olympics it got a second entrance towards the Waldbühne.
