Rohrdamm

Siemensstadt

Named after the Rohrdamm, a road built over a water main – ‘Rohr’ means pipe.

Beneath the street run the pressure pipes carrying water from the Tegel waterworks to the Jungfernheide waterworks; it was also known as Wasserdamm. Above the station stands the former headquarters of the Siemens-Schuckertwerke, and Rainer G. Rümmler decorated the station with stylised gearwheels and grilles. It opened in 1980 and was the terminus of the U7 until 1984.
