Stadion Buschallee/Hansastraße

Weißensee

Named after the Stadion Buschallee and the Hansastraße, which meet here.

The stadium opened in 1923 in the new Volkspark Fauler See. Buschallee (1915) honours Felix Busch (1871–1938), Landrat (district administrator) of Niederbarnim; the Nazis forced him to sell his estate in 1933. Hansastraße (1988) recalls the Hanseatic League, because builders from Rostock’s housing combine put up the flats nearby.
