Stonebridge Park

Brent

Named after a stone bridge that carried Harrow Road over the River Brent.

The bridge took the road over the eastern branch of the Brent in the late 17th century, when the other bridges over the river were wooden. An inn called the Stone Bridge existed by 1770. In the 1870s the architect H. E. Kendall designed a private estate here, first conceived as Harlesdon Park but soon renamed Stonebridge Park.
