Bedford Park Boulevard was 200th Street until 1906; Lehman College honours Herbert H. Lehman.
Lehman (1878–1963) was governor of New York from 1933 to 1942 and later a US senator; the college, founded in 1931 as Hunter College’s Bronx campus, took his name on becoming independent in the late 1960s. Lehman College says the Bedford Park tract was named after a planned ‘garden’ community in London; Wikipedia says the boulevard was likely named after Standard Oil director Edward Thomas Bedford.
