Named after the rue Bréguet and the rue Saint-Sabin, which meet here.
The rue Bréguet honours the Breguet family of watchmakers, above all Abraham Louis Breguet (1747–1823), born in Neuchâtel, now in Switzerland. The rue Saint-Sabin honours Charles-Pierre d'Angelesme de Saint-Sabin, an alderman of Paris from 1775 to 1777.
