Named after Kagraner Platz, the old village square of Kagran.
The square was named on 23 March 1909 after the municipality of Kagran; before that it was the village’s Hauptstraße (main street). Kagran was once known for breeding geese and ducks, and a large village pond lay here until 1904. Some old farmhouses with gabled fronts still stand on the square.
