Named after Rennbahnweg, the ‘racecourse road’.
The road was named on 12 July 1928 after the auxiliary racecourse of the Wiener Trabrenn-Verein, the Vienna trotting club, which once stood here. East of the station stands a council housing estate called Trabrenngründe – ‘trotting grounds’.
