Named after the new district, itself named after nearby Schloss Belvedere.
‘Quartier Belvedere’ is a name that arose in Vienna’s property business around the turn of the millennium, for the new district on the site of the Südbahnhof station, closed in 2009, around the new Hauptbahnhof, completed in 2015. It refers to Schloss Belvedere and its park just to the north.
