Zippererstraße

Simmering

Named after Zippererstraße, which honours the landowner Georg Zipperer.

The street was named in 1864/1869 after Georg Zipperer, a Simmering landowner around 1850, who opened up the street by building his house on it; it was extended in 1904. Until 1829 the knacker’s yard (Wasenmeisterei) stood here, before it moved to Kaiserebersdorf.
