Named after Eichwalde, the municipality on Berlin’s south-eastern edge.
The place was first recorded in 1673 as Rahdelandt and long known as Radeland. In 1893 the estate was divided up for settlers and renamed Eichwalde. The station opened in 1898 as Eichwalde-Schmöckwitz, became Eichwalde (Kreis Teltow) in 1935, and has been plain Eichwalde since 1953.
