Named after Rummelsburg, an inn whose name passed to a whole settlement.
A brickworks stood on the lakeshore from 1669; it later became a dairy farm called Charlottenhof. When the wine merchant Johann Jakob Rummel bought it and turned it into an inn, he named it Rummelsburg, and the name passed to the settlement that grew up around it. The halt opened in 1882 as Kietz-Rummelsburg and has been called Rummelsburg since 1914.
