Kannerklinik / Maternité

Belair

Named after two CHL hospitals: the children’s clinic and the maternity.

'Kannerklinik' is Luxembourgish for children’s clinic. Prince Jean and Princess Joséphine-Charlotte gave 4.2 million francs towards it as a wedding gift in 1953; it opened in 1966. The maternity, one of Luxembourg’s few Bauhaus-style buildings, opened in 1936 and moved into a new building next door in 2015. Both became part of the CHL in 1975.
