Willibrord

Bonnevoie

Named after Saint Willibrord (around 658–739).

Born in Northumbria, this Anglo-Saxon monk became the first bishop of Utrecht and the 'Apostle to the Frisians'. In 698 he founded the abbey of Echternach, where he died and was buried. Every Whit Tuesday, Echternach's dancing procession honours him. Bonnevoie has both a Place and a Rue Saint-Willibrord.
