'Tawioun' is linked in local tradition to Octavian, son of Count Peter Ernst von Mansfeld.
Mansfeld created an enclosed deer park near his castle in the 16th century, and a gate known as 'Porta Octaviani' is associated with the name. The steep road still carries an echo of that vanished landscape.
