Named after the former quai de Passy, which recalled the village of Passy.
Called the 'station du quai de Passy' in the first plans, it is named after this riverside road, which became the quai de Passy in 1842 because it ran along the village, and the avenue du Président-Kennedy in 1964. Passy comes from Paciacum, the home of a Passius or estate of a Paccius; most of the commune of Passy was joined to Paris in 1860.
