Simplonstraße

Friedrichshain

Named after the Simplon Pass in the Swiss Alps.

The street got its name on 15 September 1906, after the Simplon Pass and the Simplon railway tunnel opened that same year. Before that it was part of Kopernikusstraße. In 1939 it was extended over the former Ludwig-Lehmann-Straße towards Ostkreuz.
