Michel-Ange – Auteuil

Paris 16e

Named after the rue Michel-Ange and the rue d'Auteuil.

The rue Michel-Ange, opened in 1862, was named by decree of 2 March 1864 after Michelangelo (1475–1564), the Italian sculptor, painter and architect. The rue d'Auteuil was the main street of the old village of Auteuil, joined to Paris in 1860. It got its present name by an order of 20 July 1868, which merged the grande rue d'Auteuil with part of the rue Molière.
