Montparnasse – Bienvenüe

Paris 6e, 14e, 15e

Named after the Montparnasse quarter and Fulgence Bienvenüe, the engineer who created the Paris metro.

In 1933 the Avenue du Maine station was renamed Bienvenüe, when the place du Maine became the place Bienvenüe. In 1942 the neighbouring Montparnasse and Bienvenüe stations were joined under one name. The first Montparnasse station had opened in 1910 at the entrance of the old railway station.
